Man Listening To Only NICKELBACK For A Week To Help Charity
February 19, 2015According to The Pulse Of Radio, a man has pledged to take "the ultimate test of endurance" by listening to nothing but Canadian rock act NICKELBACK for a week. Jesse Carey launched his campaign to raise money for Charity: Water, an organization which builds water wells in developing countries. Carey's initial goal was $10,000, but as of publication, he's already surpassed $18,000.
Carey discussed his initiative in a recent podcast that is available online.
"I want someone who's going through a hard time next week to be like, 'Huh, I'm really down and out, life's really got me down, but right now there's a guy who’s been listening to NICKELBACK for days straight,'" he said during his appearance on the podcast.
There have been a number of weird NICKELBACK-related news items in recent months, including two men getting arrested for saying the group's name and a man starting a petition to have the quartet banned in England.
NICKELBACK's eighth studio album, "No Fixed Address", arrived in stores last November and follows up the Canadian act's 2011 effort "Here And Now".
The first single from the album, "Edge Of A Revolution", recently topped the rock radio airplay chart. The latest single from the set is "Million Miles An Hour".
Frontman Chad Kroeger told The Pulse Of Radio that "Million Miles An Hour" came together very late in the game during the recording sessions for the new disc. He said: "It was the 11th hour of the album, and that one came out of left field, and we all just fell madly in love with the song immediately and we were like, 'Okay, this thing is thumping. Let's have this open the album.'"
The Nickelback onslaught is wearing me down ... I now know why no other human has attempted such a feat

Only two days in & I’m already feeling the effects of such huge quantities of Nickelback. We’re in unexplored psychological territory here
